The 2020 American Ancestors Young Historians Essay Contest Submission Deadline: June 10, 2020 400 years ago the Mayflower landed on the shores of Massachusetts, forever changing the course of history of four nations: America, England, Netherlands, and Wampanoag. By commemorating the landing of the Mayflower, we honor the story of the Pilgrims and of the native Wampanoag.
Heritage University is committed to supporting outstanding students in our community who are not eligible to receive federal financial aid. Our Dreamers Scholarship will provide selected recipients with 100% of tuition for a maximum of 5 years towards the completion of a first bachelor’s degree. This award does not cover institutional fees.
The CSN African American Heritage Committee awards scholarships to graduating and returning CSN students to pursue their post-secondary education. Recipients receive a monetary award for academic expenses. Qualifications: Must be registered in at least six credit hours with College of Southern Nevada during the semester the scholarship period.
Essay Contest (Grades 4-5, 6-8, 9-12) Governor Ron DeSantis’ and First Lady Casey DeSantis’ Hispanic Heritage Month Essay Contest is open to all students attending any Florida school in grades 4-12. Three winners will be selected: one elementary school student (grades 4-5), one middle school student (grades 6-8), and one high school student.
RANDOLPH AIR FORCE BASE, Tx — Native American Indian Heritage Month is celebrated annually in November to honor and recognize the original people of America. Randolph distinguished this month with several events, including storytelling at the elementary school, a powwow at Fort Sam Houston, a poster contest, exhibition dancing and a scholarship essay contest.
